Experience- backed by community and driven by what’s next
We’re not just another job board, we are a community that helps you move forward. Steady Hand Partners connects seasoned professionals to real opportunity.
How it works
We've built this process because I needed a structured, smart, data driven approach to the Talent and Advisory side of Steady Hand Partners (SHP). The idea behind it is simple: a candidate should walk into every conversation more prepared than anyone else in the room. Consulting is its own conversation, and a different engine entirely.
The reaction I hear most often is some version of "I've never had this level of feedback, investment, or informed discussion from anyone else in this industry." Here's what actually sits behind that.
The research goes deep, not just wide.
For every candidate, we build a genuine picture of the market, who's hiring, why, and what's actually driving the need, across dozens of organisations. That depth is what lets a conversation start from "here's why this role exists and why you're right for it," instead of "here's a job description, are you interested." It's also why, when we do pick up the phone, it's a warm, well-timed approach rather than a cold call.
Twenty five years in the industry means the vetting runs deeper than a CV.
I've spent that time at major Australian banks and telcos, with solid coverage across finance and telco. In most cases, we've either worked together before or share a trusted connection. That means I'm not just matching skills to a job description, I'm matching how someone actually operates under pressure to what a target organisation genuinely needs. That's a different kind of fit, and it's the kind that holds up once someone's in the role, not just in the interview.
We stay in it through the quiet patches.
Every process hits a stretch where a client goes on leave, a budget gets frozen, or priorities shift internally. That's normal, and it's exactly where a fractional, practitioner-led model earns its keep. We stay engaged and keep the momentum alive, rather than treating a quiet week as the end of the conversation.
The interview is a handover, not a handoff.
Before you walk into that room, you'll know why the role exists, what's actually happening inside the organisation right now, who you're talking to, and what problem that person is accountable for solving. That's not a courtesy briefing, it's the job. Once the interview's done, we're still in it with you, deciding together whether to chase or let it breathe if things go quiet afterwards.
Joining the Steady Hand community, and how it works
None of this works without a strong network behind it. The vetting only works if I've worked with you directly, or with someone whose judgement I trust who has. The bigger this community gets, the stronger that vetting becomes, for everyone in it, not just the people I already know.
